Tax time is coming and AARP tax help is available at the Bethpage Public Library once again for community taxpayers with low and moderate incomes, with special attention to those age 60 and over.
Expertly trained volunteers will be at the library to help answer your questions and assist in filling out tax forms. All taxpayers must bring a government-issued photo ID, their Social Security card, 2023 tax returns (state and federal), income documents (such as W-2s, SSA 1099, etc.), brokerage statements, mortgage interest, medical and dental, donations, property taxes, educational expenses, and a bank check for direct deposit/debit of refund/balance due. If filing a joint return, the IRS mandates that both parties must be present, and both parties must have their photo ID and Social Security card.
Registration begins Thursday, January 2, 2025 for Bethpage Union Free School District residents. All others may register beginning Monday, January 27, 2025. Appointments are necessary and are every 15 minutes, beginning at 10:00 AM, with the last appointment at 1:45 PM. Please call the Reference Desk at 516 931-3907 to schedule.
