Roots to Wings: A Mindful Nature Series

with Susan Garcia of Mindful Me | Grades 3 - 5

Susan Garcia invites children to this two-part summer series to slow down, connect with nature, and explore growth and change in a fun, meaningful way. In the first workshop, A Peaceful Garden, children will build calm and self-awareness through a gentle yoga flow, mindful breathing, and a hands-on seed planting activity. In the second workshop, The Monarch Migration, children will explore the beauty of change through movement, storytelling, and a creative butterfly craft inspired by the monarch’s journey. Together, these workshops nurture mindfulness, creativity, and confidence—helping children “grow their roots” and “find their wings” as they prepare for the season ahead. Please bring a blanket or beach towel.

Open to residents in SD #21 ONLY. Register online with your Bethpage Public Library Card.

Please Note our Registration/Attendance Policy:

• Children must have their own library card to register for a program. You can apply for a library card in-person or online at Apply for a Library Card Online HERE!
• Reminder: Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to make a program.
• Repeated absences without notification will cause registration for subsequent programs in the following newsletter to be added to the waitlist rather than the main list.
• Waitlist does not guarantee admittance.
• Patrons on a waitlists will be notified as cancellations are made in advance of the program.
• Waitlist on day of program: Priority, based on arrival time will be given to online wait listed patrons. Walk-ins will be added to the existing wait list based on a first-come-first-basis.
• Latecomers: Reservations will be held for 5 minutes after start time unless you have called in advance.
• Caregivers are required to remain in the Library at all times while their children are attending programs.
